Sensex, Nifty extend fall: Top gainers & losers

Benchmark indices on Thursday continued to plunge for the fourth straight session amid weak global cues and pre-election jitters. The domestic indices were dragged by banks, financials, consumer, automobile and energy stocks. Headline index Nifty tanked 152 points or 0.69% to close at 21,996-level. Top losers on the Nifty50 platform were Apollo Hospitals, Nestle India, Titan, ONGC and Axis Bank while gainers included Airtel, Power Grid, Bajaj Auto, Hindalco and Infosys.

Stocks such as Infosys, Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, Airtel and Axis Bank were most active on NSE today, in terms of value. Tata Steel, Power Grid, ONGC and NTPC were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
