The domestic equity market was trading higher in the afternoon session today. Sensex climbed 431 points to 73,374 and Nifty gained 151 pts to 22,298.
VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Financial Services said, “Since the US 10-year bond yield is hovering around 4.57%, more FII selling is likely, putting pressure on large-caps. This will provide opportunities to investors to slowly accumulate high quality largecaps where the margin of safety is high. In the near-term, however, heightened activity is likely in mid and smallcaps, particularly in stocks where floating stocks are low. This is a risky area."
Shares of Mastek rose 20 per cent to hit their upper circuit of Rs 3,100.25 after the firm announced that it has been named as a supplier on the UK Ministry of Defence's £1.2B Digital and IT professional services (DIPS) framework. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 8899 crore.
Shares of search engine provider Just Dial hit their 52-week high after the firm reported its earnings for the quarter ended March 2024. Just Dial shares hit a high of Rs 1010, rising 13% in early deals today. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 8536 crore on BSE. Total 3.38 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 33.30 crore. Just Dial reported a 38.44% rise in Q4 net profit to Rs 115.74 crore against a profit of Rs 83.6 cr in Q4 of FY23.
Shares of Jio Financial climbed 6 per cent ahead of the company’s March quarter (Q4) earnings on Friday, April 19. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 2.41 lakh crore. Total 60.04 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to the highest turnover of Rs 228.10 crore.
Moschip Technologies shares climbed 18.51% to a 52 week high of Rs 130.88 in the afternoon session today. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 2,397 crore. A total of 67.45 lakh shares of the firm changed hands, amounting to a turnover of Rs 84.40 crore on BSE.
Vodafone Idea stock rose 4% to Rs 13.48 after the telco opened its follow-on public offer (FPO) of equity shares. Market cap of the telco climbed to Rs 67,310 crore. A total of 665.94 lakh shares of the firm changed hands, amounting to a turnover of Rs 88.82 crore on BSE.
Shares of Infosys gained 2.10% to Rs 1444.50 ahead of the IT firm’s Q4 earnings set to be announced today. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 5.93 lakh crore. A total of 6.03 lakh shares of the firm changed hands, amounting to a turnover of Rs 86.01 crore on BSE.
Shares of Jindal Steel gained 3% to Rs 929.80 in the afternoon session today. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 94,684 crore. A total of 8.49 lakh shares of the firm changed hands, amounting to a turnover of Rs 78.02 crore on BSE.
