Junagarh to Dongri

Born on January 28, 1992, in Junagadh, Gujarat, Munawar moved to Dongri in Mumbai in 2007 with his family (father and 3 sisters). His mother passed away 2 years before moving to Mumbai.

Worked in utensil shop

After Munawar's father fell sick, he was compelled to work at a utensil store at the age of 17. He was reportedly paid Rs 60 per day for a 13-hour shift. His father passed away in 2020.

Graphic designer

Munawar did several odd jobs. He took up a course in graphic designing while working in utensil store. In 2009, he got a job as a graphic designer.

Stand-up happens

His comic punches at work inspired him to try stand-up. He started a YouTube channel where he uploaded roast vidoes that got him millions of views.

A month in jail

Munawar was arrested last year during a stand-up tour for allegedly hurting religious sentiments and spent nearly a month in jail.

Loses shows

While in jail,  12 of his shows were cancelled. Munawar has been quite open about his experience in jail. In an interview he said, “Jail is the hell where you go alive. I wouldn't even want to send my arch-enemy to this hell".

Has a child

His net worth in 2022 was reportedly around Rs 50 lakh. He has a child. In a TV show, he said he and his wife were separated and the custody of the child and the divorce matter was on.

Cheating accusations

Ayesha Khan, his co-contestant in Bigg Boss, claimed Munawar was with not one but 5 women during the course of 2 months before entering the Bigg Boss House. She said, “He wasn’t only cheating on me and Nazila (his present girlfriend) but several other women. At one point he was with 5 different women and was lying to all of them.”
