Benchmark index NSE Nifty on Wednesday scaled its fresh all-time high level, led by gains in consumer, metal, state-owned lenders and energy stocks. Nifty touched an all-time high of 22,776 during intraday trade. It eventually closed at 22,754-level. During the day, the 30-share BSE pack settled 354 points or 0.47% higher at 75,038. Top gainers on the Nifty50 platform were Coal India, BPCL, ITC, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Hindalco while losers included HDFC Life, Cipla, Maruti, Divi's Labs and Shriram Finance.
Stocks such as HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, SBI and Tata Steel were most active on NSE today, in terms of value. Coal India and ITC were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
In the NSE 500 index, shares of Data Patterns (India) Ltd emerged as the top gainer. The stock zoomed 11.86% on NSE today to settle at Rs 3,007. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 16,834.4 crore.
Jubilant Ingrevia Ltd shares soared 10.63% to close at Rs 543.8. The company's m-cap came at Rs 8,661.7 crore.
NMDC Steel Ltd shares surged 8.4% to close at Rs 65.85. The company's m-cap stood at Rs 19,298 crore. HEG, Tanla Platforms, Archean Chemical Industries, Vedanta and Gujarat Fluorochemicals were some of the other gainers on NSE 500.
Shares of Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd fell sharply today. The stock dived 5% to close at Rs 429.7 on Wednesday. At this price, the company's market cap stood at Rs 13,944.7 crore.
Schneider Electric Infrastructure Ltd shares slipped 4.35% to end the session at Rs 1,484.4. The company's m-cap came at Rs 17,676.7 crore today. Allcargo Logistics, Anand Rathi Wealth, Home First Finance Company India, Natco Pharma and Cochin Shipyard were among some other laggards on NSE 500.
