Market recap: Sensex, Nifty rebound

Indian equity benchmarks staged a sharp recovery on Friday and settled higher, pausing their four-day losing run. The domesic indices were up in previous trade, led by gains in banks, financials and consumer stocks. NSE Nifty closed with 151 points or 0.69% gains at 22,147-level. And, the 30-share BSE Sensex pack jumped 599 points or 0.83% to end at 73,088. Stocks such as Indus Towers, Motherson, Vedanta and CG Power were among the top gainers on Nifty 200 during this holiday-truncated week.

Indus Towers share price

Indus Towers Ltd's stock was among the top gainers this week in the Nifty 200 universe as the scrip soared 7.12% to Rs 351.4 on NSE. The stock has jumped 47.49% in the last one month.

Motherson share price

Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd's stock surged 5.39% this week to Rs 127.05 on NSE, and was among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 universe. In the last one month, the stock has gained 14.3%.

Vedanta share price

Vedanta Ltd's stock was also among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 pack this week as it moved 3.49% higher to Rs 385.95 on NSE. The stock has surged 44.74% in the last one month.

CG Power share price

CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd's stock surged 8.02% to Rs 533.9 on NSE in the week ended on April 19, and was among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 universe. The stock has climbed 11.46% on a monthly basis.

Hindustan Aeronautics  share price

Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd's stock was also among the top gainers in the Nifty 200 universe this week as it jumped 3.11% to Rs 3,751.3 on NSE. In the last one month, the stock has risen 22.64%. Shares of Airtel, Patanjali Foods, Bharat Dynamics, Maruti Suzuki India and ONGC also picked up pace during the week on NSE 200.

Tata Communications  share price

Tata Communications Ltd's stock slumped 9.78% this week to Rs 1,755.2 on NSE, and was among the top losers in the Nifty 200 pack. The stock has slipped 8.12% in the last one month.

Max Healthcare share price

Max Healthcare Institute Ltd's shares dived 11.21% to Rs 772.85 on NSE this week, making the stock one of the top losers in the Nifty 200 universe. However, the scrip has risen 5.17% in the last one month. During the week, shares of Berger Paints, Coforge, L&T Technology Services, Oracle Financial Services Software and TVS Motor Company also saw sharp corrections on NSE 200.
