Boeing Starliner Crew Flight Test

NASA will offer live coverage of prelaunch and launch events for the Boeing Crew Flight Test, transporting NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams to and from the International Space Station. The agency’s mission coverage schedule is as follows (all times Eastern and subject to change based on real-time operations):

Wednesday, May 1

 At 1:30 p.m., a virtual news conference at Kennedy will feature the flight test astronauts: Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams. The live stream of the virtual news conference will be available on NASA+, NASA Television, the NASA app, YouTube, and the agency’s website. Media can ask questions via phone only. Friday, May 3

At 12:30 p.m., following the Launch Readiness Review, a prelaunch news conference will be held at Kennedy launch center featuring NASA administrator Bill Nelson. At 3:30 p.m., a NASA Social panel live stream event will take place at Kennedy featuring NASA’s Commercial Crew Program deputy launch vehicle office manager Ian Kappes, Boeing’s Starliner associate chief engineer Amy Comeau Denker, ULA’s system engineering and test leader Caleb Weiss, and NASA’s International Space Station Program chief scientist Jennifer Buchli.

Monday, May 6 

At 6:30 p.m., coverage of the launch will commence on NASA+, NASA Television, the NASA app, YouTube, and the agency’s website. The launch is scheduled for 10:34 p.m. Coverage on NASA+ will conclude shortly after Starliner orbital insertion. NASA Television will offer uninterrupted coverage, spanning from the lead-up to docking through hatch opening and welcome remarks.

Tuesday, May 7 

At 2 a.m., a postlaunch news conference will be held, featuring participants such as NASA Deputy Administrator Pam Melroy and others. The conference will be broadcasted live on NASA+, NASA Television, the NASA app, YouTube, and the agency’s website.  Following the news conference, NASA+ coverage will conclude, while mission coverage will continue on both NASA channels. At 10:15 p.m., arrival coverage will resume on NASA+, the NASA app, and YouTube, continuing on NASA Television and the agency’s website.

Wednesday, May 8 

At 12:48 a.m., the spacecraft is scheduled to dock with the forward-facing port of the station’s Harmony module. Following this, at 2:35 a.m., the hatch is expected to open, with welcome remarks planned for 3:15 a.m. Later, at 4:15 a.m., a post-docking news conference will be held at Johnson Space Center, featuring participants such as NASA Associate Administrator Jim Free and others. Please note that all times are estimates and subject to change based on operational needs.
