Benchmarks settle lower: Top gainers & losers

Domestic benchmarks on Tuesday closed in the negative territory, dragged by banks, financials, metals, pharma and energy stocks. Headline index NSE Nifty fell 140 points or 0.62% to settle at 22,303-level. The 30-share BSE Sensex pack declined 384 points or 0.52% to end at 73,512. Top gainers on the Nifty50 platform were HUL, Tech Mahindra, Nestle India, Britannia and ITC while losers included Bajaj Auto, PowerGrid, ONGC, IndusInd Bank and Hindalco.

Stocks such as HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, HUL, ICICI Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank were most active on NSE today, in terms of value. Tata Steel, ITC and SBI were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.

In the NSE 500 index, shares of Jyothy Labs Ltd emerged as the top gainer. The stock zoomed 10.18% on NSE today to settle at Rs 456.55. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 16,764.9 crore.

Marico share price today

Marico Ltd shares soared 10.03% to close at Rs 583.5. The company's m-cap came at Rs 75,510.8 crore.

Godrej Consumer share price today

Godrej Consumer Products Ltd shares surged 5.78% to close at Rs 1,322.35. The company's m-cap stood at Rs 1,35,252.6 crore. Dabur, Titagarh Rail Systems, CG Power and Industrial Solutions, Emami and Finolex Industries were some of the other gainers on NSE 500.

Shares of Rainbow Children's Medicare Ltd fell sharply today. The stock dived 7.72% to close at Rs 1,449.95 on Tuesday. At this price, the company's market cap stood at Rs 14,717.2 crore.
