In a recent interview, RRR’s director SS Rajamouli told that the entire movie revolving around the fictional story of two real-life revolutionaries who fought against British rule in India has been summarised into the 10-minute-long song shot in front of the Ukrainian presidential palace

It took around 1 year and 7 months for Naatu Naatu lyricist Chandrabose to write the entire song. Drawing inspiration from his childhood in Telangana, Chandrabose included several folksy references - like eating chilli with jowar roti (red sorghum bread) - in the song
