Team India’s wicket-keeper and left-handed batsman Rishabh Pant has many records in his name already at the age of 25. Here’s a look at his career, milestones, personal life and more
Rishabh Pant was born on October 4, 1997 to Rajendra Pant and Saroj Pant in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. His parents had a huge role in helping shape Rishabh’s career at a young age. His father began training him on their rooftop, where he would tie a pillow around Rishabh’s chest and bowl bouncers to him, as per media reports
Pant was only 12 when he and his mother Saroj would take a train to Delhi on the weekend so that he could get trained with Tarak Sinha at the Sonnet Cricket Academy
During the visits to Delhi for training at the cricket academy, Rishabh Pant and his mother did not have any accommodation available to them so they stayed at a Gurdwara in Moti Bagh
Rishabh Pant made his first-class debut in October 2015 in the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy. He got noticed in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy, when he scored 308 runs in an innings, which made him the third-youngest Indian to score a triple century in first-class cricket
