A Total Solar Eclipse occurs when the Moon moves behind the Sun, briefly causing the Earth to be completely illuminated by the Sun's light. This phenomenon is known as Khagras in Hindu Vedic Astrology.
Total Solar Eclipses are rare cosmic events that occur approximately every eighteen months. The challenge in viewing them lies in finding a suitable location on land due to the vastness of the Earth's oceans.
Unfortunately, this time the Solar Eclipse will not be visible in India. Instead, it will be visible in various countries such as the United States, Mexico, Canada, and other parts of North America.
The eclipse will begin over the South Pacific Ocean and traverse North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The path continues from Mexico into the United States, spanning across various states before entering Canada.
According to NASA, the eclipse path extends from Texas in the United States, through several states including Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. It will then enter Canada, passing through southern Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia, before exiting continental North America.
Unfortunately, India will not witness this Total Solar Eclipse. However, astronomy enthusiasts in the aforementioned countries will have the opportunity to witness this remarkable celestial event.
While India may miss out on this rare spectacle, individuals in North America and other designated regions can look forward to experiencing the awe-inspiring phenomenon of a Total Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024.
