As soon as the RRR Golden Globes announcement was made, Naatu Naatu song got played in the background and the audience comprising both desis (Indians) and videshis (foreigners) could not stop themselves from breaking into a dance
Sharing a video of the event, RRR director SS Rajamouli tweeted, “SPEECHLESS (sic). Music truly knows no boundaries. Congratulations and thank you PEDDANNA for giving me Naatu Naatu. This one is special. I thank each and every fan across the globe for shaking their leg and making it popular ever since its release. ”
RRR was in competition with tracks like Lady Gaga’s Hold My Hand, Taylor Swift’s Carolina, Rihanna’s Lift Me Up and Ciao Papa from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinnochio
RRR lost out on the Best Foreign Film award to its Argentinian counterpart Argentina, 1985. But praise for RRR's Golden Globes victory for Best Original Song came in from all corners
The scenes from a packed cinema hall in the US shared by Hollywood actress Chevonne Hughes, were a testimony to the international virality of Naatu Naatu song featuring Jr NTR and Ram Charan as the foreign viewers broke into dance along the tunes of the music
Moviegoers thronged the front of a theatre in China and danced to Naatu Naatu with gusto

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the RRR team and tweeted, “...This prestigious honour has made every Indian very proud.”
RRR’s song Naatu Naatu is not the only Indian song which has amassed fans among the international audience. Another viral Indian song in recent times which hooked the international audience was Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa’s ‘Srivalli’ along with some of the film's popular dialogues
