Apple is set to unveil a new entry-level iPhone likely today. While we are anticipating the new gen iPhone SE 4 according to reports Apple may not bring any new iPhone SE.
Instead the new affordable iPhone could be named iPhone 16E.
Tim Cook in his teaser of the new product launched also hinted that a new member in the Apple ecosystem is coming. So this might be a hint towards a new edition altogether.
The iPhone 16E name first appeared in December through a Weibo account, Fixed Focus Digital, which has a strong track record of leaks.
Later, tipster Majin Bu claimed that sources confirmed the device will not be called iPhone SE 4 but rather iPhone 16E. Majin Bu also recently mentioned that someone had seen an iPhone box labeled "iPhone 16E."
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman also hinted that Apple CEO Tim Cook's post about a "new family member" suggests a different name for this device.
Further fueling speculation, Amazon listings for iPhone 16E cases have surfaced, though they could be based on assumptions.
The upcoming model is expected to bring a larger 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID, a USB-C port, and an A18 chip.
Apple is also rumored to introduce its in-house 5G modem and Apple Intelligence support, making this a significant upgrade over previous SE models.
