Benchmarks extend gains: Top gainers & losers

Domestic benchmarks on Thursday continued their upward run for the fifth straight session, led by gains in state-owned lenders, pharma, metals and auto stocks. Headline index NSE Nifty closed 168 points or 0.75% higher at 22,570-level. The 30-share BSE pack jumped 487 points or 0.66% to end at 74,339. Top gainers on the Nifty50 platform were Axis Bank, State Bank of India (SBI), Dr Reddy's, Nestle India and Hero MotoCorp while losers included Kotak Mahindra Bank, LTIMindtree, Hindustan Unilever, Titan and SBI Life.

Godfrey Phillips India Ltd shares soared 10.17% to close at Rs 3,449.7. The company's m-cap came at Rs 17,936.3 crore.

MCX share price today

Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd shares surged 8.37% to close at Rs 4,160.85. The company's m-cap stood at Rs 21,219.7 crore. Bharat Forge, Firstsource Solutions, Jupiter Wagons, Inox Wind and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders were some of the other gainers on NSE 500.

Kotak Mahindra Bank share price today

Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd fell sharply today. The stock dived 10.87% to close at Rs 1,642.45 on Thursday. At this price, the company's market cap stood at Rs 3,26,506.1 crore. Today's sharp drop in the share price came after Reserve Bank of India (RBI) barred Kotak from taking on new customers via its online and mobile banking channels. It also restricted the private lender from issuing new credit cards, due to IT-related deficiencies.

Glenmark Life share price today

Glenmark Life Sciences Ltd shares slipped 9.2% to end the session at Rs 750.5. The company's m-cap came at Rs 9,195.7 crore today. Dalmia Bharat, Indian Hotels Company, Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company, Aster DM Healthcare and Metropolis Healthcare were among some other laggards on NSE 500.
