ACROSS THE COUNTRY

Japanese distributor Twin released the film on 240 screens in Japan across 44 cities - the widest release for an Indian film in the country.

A HIT IN A WEEK

In a week, RRR had 73 million yen (Rs 4 crore), making it the highest first week collection for an Indian film in Japan.

MASSIVE FOOTFALL

RRR had crazy footfalls after it released in Dolby and IMAX formats in Japan this weekend, with over 4,17,000 admissions.

THE FORMER CHAMP

Rajinikanth's Muthu was previously the highest grossing Indian film in Japan with a box office collection of 400 million yen (Rs 25 crore).

RAJAMOULI'S MARK

In second position on the list was Rajamouli's Baahubali 2, that ran for a year in 2017 and grossed 300 million yen (Rs 19 crore).

BLOCKBUSTER SUCCESS

RRR has had audiences in Japan screaming, crying and throwing confetti, and even caused servers in theatres to crash.

MORE THAN INDIA COULD

In an interview with GoldDerby, NTR Jr said, "I was there in Japan, witnessing people crying. I think they have expressed their love for RRR as audiences, more than what India could."
