Domestic benchmarks fell sharply on Friday, dragged down by all sectoral indices. Headline index Nifty tanked 234 points or 1.03% to close at 22,519-level. Top losers on the Nifty50 platform were Sun Pharma, Maruti Suzuki, PowerGrid, Titan and ONGC while gainers included Divi's Labs, Bajaj Auto, Tata Motors, TCS and Nestle India.
Stocks such as HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, Axis Bank, Infosys and TCS were most active on NSE today, in terms of value. Tata Steel, NTPC, ONGC and ITC were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
Shares of PB Fintech Ltd, owner of Policybazaar, emerged as the top loser in the NSE 500 index. The stock cracked 5.07% on NSE today to settle at Rs 1,264.15. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 57,038.9 crore.
Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd shares slumped 4.99% to close at Rs 408.25. The company's m-cap came at Rs 13,248.6 crore.
Prestige Estates Projects Ltd shares tanked 4.62% to close at Rs 1,190.65. The company's m-cap stood at Rs 47,728.6 crore. Piramal Pharma, Page Industries, Finolex Industries and Laurus Labs were some of the other losers on NSE 500.
Shares of Hindustan Zinc Ltd rose sharply today. The stock surged 7.64% to close at Rs 431.95 on Friday. At this price, the company's market cap stood at Rs 1,82,512.7 crore.
Central Depository Services (India) Ltd shares jumped 6.7% to end the session at Rs 2,008.1. The company's m-cap came at Rs 20,984.6 crore today. Archean Chemical Industries, Quess Corp, Nuvama Wealth Management and KEI Industries were among some other gainers on NSE.
