Delhi Gets A New Parliament

CENTRAL VISTA PROJECT

The foundation stone of the new Parliament was laid by PM Modi in Dec 2020. In Sep 2022, the new Central Vista Avenue was inaugurated.

Final preps are underway, and it is expected that the new Parliament building will open by the end of January 2023.

A MUCH BIGGER LOK SABHA

Central Vista 2.0 will have a three times bigger Lok Sabha. It will have seating arrangements for 888 MPs and is peacock-themed.

The Rajya Sabha will have 384 seats, and is lotus-themed, on our national flower.

ULTRA-MODERN OFFICE SPACES

The buildings will have offices that are designed to be secure and will be equipped with the latest tech.

The Rs 14,000-crore project will have more greenery and a lot of open space.

The new parliament will have a bigger library, with better information-gathering arrangement and more archived materials.

A central lounge is created for MPs to interact with people. The courtyard is based on our national tree, the Banyan.
