Vaibhav Taneja, an Indian-origin executive, has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Tesla, the American electric vehicle and clean energy company. Here are the key things you should know about him:
Vaibhav Taneja is 45 years old and hails from India. He is a commerce graduate from the University of Delhi.
Prior to his appointment as CFO, Taneja served as Tesla's Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) since March 2019. He will continue to hold this position alongside his new role as CFO.

Taneja's journey with Tesla began in 2017 when he joined the company after it acquired SolarCity, a solar energy firm where he was vice president.
Before joining Tesla, Taneja worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in India and the US between July 1999 and March 2016, as per his LinkedIn profile.
In addition to his role as CAO, Taneja has held various positions within Tesla, including Corporate Controller from May 2018 and Assistant Corporate Controller between February 2017 and May 2018.
Taneja replaced Zachary Kirkhorn as CFO, who stepped down from the position after a 13-year tenure marked by tremendous growth and expansion for Tesla.
Despite stepping down, Kirkhorn will continue to serve Tesla until the end of the year to ensure a seamless transition.
